The lunar eclipse of 10 January 2020 is penumbral, which often looks like just a normal Full Moon. However, timeanddate.com says that those viewing this eclipse from “Asia, Australia, Europe, and Africa may see the Moon turn a shade darker during the maximum phase of this penumbral lunar eclipse”.
All dates Central Standard Time (CST)
Lunar eclipses occur on Full Moons, which are traditionally a time of harvest or culmination. It is a time for reaping what you have sown in previous New Moon periods.
A lunar eclipse amplifies the power of the Full Moon and may bring sudden change or bring something hidden out into the open. Lunar eclipses tend to be associated with endings, and be more emotional and focused on change from within.
The Sabian Symbol for this eclipse degree is 20° Cancer – Venetian Gondoliers In A Serenade.

Landscape Surrounding the Eclipse
The Moon (20° Cancer 00′ ) opposes the Sun (20° Capricorn 00′) which forms the basis of the lunar eclipse. The Sun and Moon are aligned with Earth but are not exactly opposite each side of the Earth as they are in a total lunar eclipse.
At the time of this eclipse, the Sun will be conjunct Mercury, which is at 20° Capricorn 06′. The Sun and Mercury have their exact conjunction early in the day, and the Moon will go on to oppose Mercury a little over ten minutes after the eclipse.
Mercury is moving pretty fast at the time of the eclipse, as well as being out of bounds. Out of bounds planets are beyond the ecliptic and tend to act different and sometimes a little rogue when outside the ecliptic.
At the time of the eclipse, Saturn and Pluto will only be a few degrees away from the Sun. Saturn will be at 20° Capricorn 33′ and Pluto will be at 22° Capricorn 42′. Their conjunction will not be exact until Sunday the 12th but will be extremely close at the time of the eclipse nonetheless.
Saturn and Pluto only meet up for conjunction about every 30+ years, so this is a significant event. The fact that Lunar Eclipses are often associated with endings, or eclipsing people or things out of our lives and Pluto is about tearing down things to rebuild them better may make for an eventful time.
Uranus makes no aspect to the eclipse degree but does station direct after being retrograde since last August less than 7 hours after the eclipse. Uranus (the sudden, unexpected, surprising) transiting direct again combined with Mercury being out of bounds may lead to quite a few interesting, unusual and shocking conversations around this time.
