Weekly Astrology – 10 to 16 July 2023

We start the week with Mars entering the sign of Virgo. Mars in Virgo can have us expecting perfection and getting a little hot under the collar when it doesn’t materialize.

Mars will be in Virgo until the 27th of August, when it moves into Libra. If you know where Virgo is in your natal chart, you can discover where and with whom you may be putting more energy, drive and ambition, but where you may also be more tetchy, annoyed and argumentative.

Late afternoon on Monday, we have an opposition between Mercury and Pluto. Mercury opposed to Pluto can bring depth, honesty and transformation in our thinking, communications and learning.

The opposition is not a soft or easy aspect though, so try not to let paranoia, power-plays or mental anguish get the better of you.

Late night on Monday, Mercury enters the sign of Leo. Leo is a fixed fire sign ruled by the Sun, so when Mercury is in Leo we may be more flamboyant in our communications, needing more attention but also perhaps not as willing to  listen to other points of view.

Early evening on Friday, we have the Sun sextile Uranus. This would be a good time to mix things up a little bit. We are being asked to roll a little more with the punches, to be a little more open to new and unusual topics, people and ideas.

From Sunday, we will be feeling the effects of the upcoming Mercury square Jupiter aspect which will be exact on the following Monday.  Mercury will be out from under the beams of the Sun at this time (where it is too close to the Sun to be seen) and so people may actually seem to be paying attention to what we have been trying to say at this time.

However that square from Mercury to Jupiter may have us a little too over-enthusiastic or unrealistic about what we want to put into action.

All times and dates given are for United States Central Daylight Time (C.D.T.).

After 6 years of providing weekly horoscopes, I have decided to move away from writing them for the website. However, I will still provide a weekly astrology round-up of what is happening in the skies.

For those interested in horoscopes, you might consider the Astro Babble podcast that I and Donna from Donna B Astrology co-host. We record horoscopes for the New and Full Moons, look ahead at the planetary aspects for the following two weeks and give our take on them. You can find the latest New or Full Moon podcast on the front page of this website or over at the Astro Babble YouTube Channel
