Weekly Astrology – 24 to 30 July 2023

There is not a lot of major planetary energy this week.  On Thursday, we have Mercury conjunct retrograde Venus.

Usually, when Mercury and Venus combine, this would be a light, lovely aspect.  We could expect friendly, flirty, and harmonious conversations and social gatherings. With Venus retrograde though, we are all re-evaluating Venusian topics.

Venusian topics include our relationships, not only romantic relationships but also our friendships and contacts with other people in general.  We may also be re-evaluating our views on beauty, art, and what we find pleasurable or what we enjoy.

With this in mind, you may find yourself curious about approaching these mattes a little differently. It is also possible too that what once was so interesting or enthralling might not hold quite the same appeal at the moment.

On Friday, Mercury enters Virgo. Mercury is both domicile and exalted in Virgo, which means that it is able to do exactly what it wants to do (communications, thinking, learning) extremely well.

One little issue with this particular Mercury in Virgo is that it is coming up to an opposition with retrograde Saturn in Pisces which is likely to leave it a little depressed and perhaps feeling overwhelmed or hemmed in.

Mercury also has to deal with having Mars already in Virgo and remaining in Virgo with it (copresent) for most of August. This is because Mercury is going to start to slow down, ready for its upcoming retrograde in late August.

All times and dates mentioned are for United States Central Daylight Time (C.D.T.).

After 6 years of providing weekly horoscopes, I have decided to move away from writing them for the website. However, I will still provide a weekly astrology round-up of what is happening in the skies.

For those interested in horoscopes, you might consider the Astro Babble podcast that I and Donna from Donna B Astrology co-host. We record horoscopes for the New and Full Moons, look ahead at the planetary aspects for the following two weeks and give our take on them. You can find the latest New or Full Moon podcast on the front page of this website or over at the Astro Babble YouTube Channel
