Weekly Astrology – 25 September to 1 October 2023

We start the week off with Mercury making a trine to retrograde Jupiter. Mercury is in a pretty good position when this happens.

Mercury was recently retrograde (which tends to upend the apple cart somewhat) and is still in the retrograde shadow period until September 30. This means that for some of us, there may still be some mix-ups, delays, and miscommunications to deal with until then.

However, Mercury is out from under the beams of the Sun at the time of the trine with retrograde Jupiter, and in the sign of Virgo, it has all the tools it needs to get its work done.

Mercury trine retrograde Jupiter is likely to manifest as a great day for big ideas. Sometimes we need to dream big but the fact that Jupiter is retrograde may make us hesitant to take a leap of faith now.

On Friday, we have the Full Moon in Aries. Full Moons are a time of harvest. They are often associated with endings, high points, or culminations. Wherever Aries is in your natal chart is likely to give you some clue about what people or topics may be drawing your time and attention over the next few weeks.

Later on Friday, we have the Venus square Uranus. This can lead to tension in relationships or do with other Venusian topics such as beauty, art, aesthetics, etc.

This is the third hit of Venus square Uranus we have had since early July. Venus first squared Uranus back on July 2nd. Then Venus stationed retrograde and squared Uranus again on August 9th. Now Venus is meeting up with Uranus again for potentially a bit of a reckoning.

When Venus is retrograde, we tend to be re-evaluating our relationships and what gives us pleasure.  When Uranus is part of an aspect it tends to bring sudden, sometimes shocking events.  So, particularly if you found that the recent Venus retrograde really seemed to impact you, this may be a turning point; one that may eventually bring you more freedom.

Then on Saturday, we have Mercury forming a trine with Uranus. While Uranus is still revolutionary and perhaps surprising, hopefully, this aspect will not be quite as tense as the Venus square Uranus aspect. This is likely to be a great time for revolutionary, inspired, out-of-the-box thinking and planning.

After 6 years of providing weekly horoscopes, I have decided to move away from writing them for the website. However, I will still provide a weekly astrology round-up of what is happening in the skies.

For those interested in horoscopes, you might consider the Astro Babble podcast that I and Donna from Donna B Astrology co-host. We record horoscopes for the New and Full Moons, look ahead at the planetary aspects for the following two weeks and give our take on them. You can find the latest New or Full Moon podcast on the front page of this website or over at the Astro Babble YouTube Channel
